Abstract

130,415. Ellor, J. E., and Fowler, Sir H. Feb. 19, 1918. Valves.-A rotary cylindrical valve is held against its seat by a piston a acted upon by oil which is subject to the pressure in the working cylinder. The oil is maintained under pressure by one or more pistons d located in passages f leading to the cylinders, the pressure being conveyed to the chamber b through pipes i, g, and any leakage in the transmission system being made up by a pump (not shown). Slight leakage occurs past the piston or pistons d to facilitate lubrication of the valve. Specification 130,414 is referred to.
