Abstract

129,147. Agar, M. F., and Sarll, L. July 26,1918. Framework.-A girder for aeroplanes and other light structures comprises upper and lower trough - shaped members A, A<1> connected together by side plates B, B<1> which have oppositely inclined corrugations as shown. The side plates are secured to the members A, A<1> at intervals by lugs C, C', C<2>, C<3> stamped from the members A, A'. The members A, A<1> are corrugated longitudinally. The top and bottom members may be built up from double channel members set web to web, with or without an intervening plate, the side plates being riveted to the flanges of the channel members. According to the Provisional Specification, the top and bottom members may be formed each of two channel members placed side by side, the corrugated side plates being secured to the flanges. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 126,085 and 126,674.
