Locking nuts.-In means for locking nuts, of the type in which the nut 4 has an annular channel 5 adapted to be engaged by a bevelled flange 10 on a washer 11 so as to press spring tongues 8, produced by forming axial slots 7 in the nut, into contact with the bolt threads, the channel 5 is formed with its sides parallel to the bolt axis.
