Abstract

1283276 Thread tensioners HAMEL GmbH ZWIRNMASCHINEN 23 Nov 1970 [4 Dec 1969] 55688/70 Heading DID A device to prevent slack formation in yarn in a ring spinner, particularly on stopping the spindle, comprises a yarn feeler 20 one arm of which 18 carries a thread guide 16 and another arm of which 28 carries a weight 30. During normal running the device in the position shown has little tensioning effect but if slack forms the device pivots, see Fig. 3 (not shown) to take up the slack. The weight used is adjustable for position or interchangeable to set the tension obtained. The device may be bent from wire, Fig. 2 (not shown) or moulded in light metal or plastics, Figs. 4, 5, 6 and 7 (not shown). The weight may either be clamped in a slot or moved by a lead screw against a cooperating scale. Transverse movement of the device along its pivot rod is prevented by a collar or collars provided with a pin stop to limit angular motion also.
