Abstract
Yarn is fed to the needles of a circular machine from a bobbin 2 by guiding it over a series of rollers at the positions where it changes direction. After leaving the bobbin an eye 4 regulates the ballooning effect whereafter it is fed over the rollers 6, 7 of a stop motion device the rollers pivoting downwardly in the event of excess tension. Following the stop motion the yarn passes round a roller 9 which is influenced by a spring to restrict the movement of the roller whereby the roller acts as a brake on the yarn. A yarn feeding device 15 around which the yarn is wound advances the yarn to a further stop motion 16 consisting of rollers 17, 18, 19 which bear on and detect the yarn. A further roller guide 20 directs the yarn to the knitting station but to regulate the tension in the yarn a tensioning arm 22 having a guide 23 engaging the yarn is provided. The arm 22 is connected to a spring 21 capable of adjustment.
