Abstract

128,269. Blackburn, H. July 6, 1917. Spray carburettors. - In carburettors wherein a vane-wheel ,actuated by the air current rotates a disk perforations in which convey fuel from a reservoir to a nozzle pipe through which the fuel is drawn by engine suction, the shaft G of the vanewheel is placed horizontally, the reservoir R, fed from the float chamber T, is surrounded by an overflow jacket U, and a shield L with flanged air-inlet openings D is provided to prevent air from leaking past the blades E of the vane-wheel without acting thereon. The spindle G is mounted in ball bearings H and actuates, through gearing 0, the perforated disk P which supplies the nozzle Q'. Fixed blades are shown at F, and the mixture outlet at C. Brake shoes I are provided to prevent the speed of the vane-wheel from becoming excessive.
