Abstract

1278560 Printing machines ROLAND OFFSETMASCHINENFABRIK FABER & SCHLEICHER AG 19 April 1971 [21 March 1970] 25215/71 Heading B6C [Also in Division B8] In a printing machine wherein sheets printed on one side by a press 6 . . . 9 are conveyed by an endless gripper conveyor 13 to a press 16 printing them on the other side, and are then delivered to a stack 23 by a second endless gripper conveyor 22, the conveyor 13 is entrained around a drum 12 following the impression cylinder 9 of the first press and around the impression cylinder 15 of the press 16, and an intermediate gripper drum 21 is mounted between the two conveyors 13, 22. As shown, the press 6 . . . 9 is an offset printing press and the press 16 may be an offset or a relief printing press. In a modified arrangement, (Fig. 2, not shown), the intermediate drum 21 is an offset-blanket cylinder. Slitting knives 24 may engage the intermediate cylinder 21.
