Abstract

1345897 Feeding sheets XEROX CORP 25 May 1971 [28 May 1970] 16934/71 Heading B8R [Also in Division B6] Copy sheets are fed by rollers 26, 27, Fig. 1, to the impression cylinder 24, Figs. 1, 3 and 5, of a xerographic printing-machine, the leading edge of a sheet being registered against a surface 70 of a gripper 60 having a tab element 71 which clamps the sheet against the cylinder when the gripper closes, and a blade element 72 which pushes the front of the sheet away from the cylinder when the gripper opens so as to allow the sheet to pass over a stripper blade 69. Three gripper assemblies are provided, one near each end of the cylinder and one central, which latter has its registration face undercut with respect to the others so as not to contact the sheet.
