Abstract

1472555 Stripping sheets INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 18 Nov 1974 [26 Dec 1973] 49749/74 Heading B8R Sheets being removed from a platen 10 by a belt transport 17 are stripped from the belt by a plurality of rollers 41 which make rubbing contact with the belt and move in the opposite peripheral direction at the point of engagement. A sheet is fed to the platen upon lowering of stops 15 and passes into the nip between spring 28 and the belt 17. The sheet is fed by the belt up to front register stops 29, engagement of the sheet by the belt being ensured by spaced pressure rollers 32 acting on the inside of the belt. After a copying operation a solenoid lowers the stops 29 and the sheet is removed from the platen by the belt and is stripped from the belt by rollers 41. The stripped sheet passes into the nip between the rollers and a resiliently biased plate 46 where the sheet activates a lever 49 so causing a member 49<SP>1</SP> to operate a switch 51. The switch operates the solenoid to raise the stops 29 ready for the next sheet. The stripped sheet is removed from the rollers 41 by fingers 52 interposed between the rollers. The sheet passes into a tray 48.
