Abstract

1276518 Parametric amplifiers TOKYO SHIBAURA DENKI KK 21 Nov 1969 [29 Nov 1968] 56988/69 Heading H3B In a parametric amplifier, a diode 10, Fig. 5, which couples a passage 12 of a pumping waveguide 11 to a coaxial line 14, 16 is disposed in a recess 19, Fig. 4, of the waveguide, the recess opening into the passage 12. The central conductor 16 of the coaxial line is connected to the diode, and the outer portion 14 of the line is bolted to the waveguide. The diode is closely surrounded by metal of the waveguide and this is stated to lower the reactance of the coupling and hence to extend the possible frequency of operation in comparison with a known amplifier, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown) in which the diode is in the centre of passage 12.
