Abstract
1,096,712. Matching impedances. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS G.m.b.H. March 23, 1965 [March 25, 1964], No. 12184/65. Heading H1W. An oval, e.g. elliptical, waveguide 2 is coupled to a co-linear co-axial line (not shown) by means of a bar and post arrangement 4, 5. The inner conductor 1 of the co-axial line extends through a central aperture in the end wall of the waveguide and is connected to a transverse bar 4 arranged at a distance of between # g /8 and # g /16 from the end wall. A post 5 extends from the junction of the conductor 1 and bar 4 to the wall of the guide. The conductor 1 may extend a short distance beyond the junction and may have an enlarged crosssection over that portion which lies within the waveguide. Various other extensions and local enlargements of the conductors may be made as shown in the drawings and the dimensions of these are discussed in the Specification. Final adjustment of the coupling may be effected by a pair of movable stubs (not shown).
