Abstract
1,232,159. Magnetrons. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 14 Aug., 1969 [17 Aug., 1968], No. 40736/69. Heading H1D. The cathode 3 of a magnetron is supported by coaxial conductors 2, 6 which pass through one of the pole shoes 10 of the tube and are terminated by a connection device comprising a plug 100 having an inner annular flange 102 which may be clamped to the inner conductor 6 and an outer annular flange 101 which forms an RF choke in conjunction with a tubular extension 105 of the outer conductor 2. The tube 105 is clamped to the end of the conductor 2 by a band 106. Power connections are made to lugs (not shown) held in position by screw 104 and by the clamping screw of clamping band 106. The anode structure comprises radial vanes 13 strapped alternately by rings 16, 17. The inner conductor 23 of output line 19, 23 is connected to a strap 15 which connects the vanes of two adjacent cavities. The output line terminates in an annular window 25 which may be inserted into a waveguide or resonant cavity.
