Abstract

127,084. Dana, H. J. May 16, 1918. Winding and paying-out apparatus on motorvehicles.-A traction engine or truck is fitted with winding drums driven from the engine for hauling out tree stumps. The traction engine comprises a frame 1 with cross members carrying the engine 6 which drives the rear wheel through a change speed gear by means of a longitudinal shaft 13 and bevel gears 27, 28. The shaft 13 also drives a transverse shaft 77, which drives a shaft 73 on which winding drums 72, 74 are loosely mounted. The drums 72, 74 can be moved along their shafts to engage the clutches 85 by means of hand-operated cam members 83.
