The shaft j carries a bevel gear l driving a differential gear on the shaft c and is driven by means of a. sliding gear wheel k normally meshing with an idle wheel i gearing with a wheel g on the main gear shaft d<1>. The front wheel drive may be disconnected by sliding the gear wheel k out of engagement with the wheel i.
