[Also in Division F2] A pipe clamp comprises a flexible sheet metal band 14 adapted to extend about a pipe, a pair of rigid lugs 18 fixed to respective end portions of the band and each having a base member 20, a boss portion 26 on each base member such portion having a bore 28, a stud 44 having an enlarged central portion of non-circular cross-section which is slidably receivable in said bores and screw threaded end portions projecting from said boss portions when said central portion is received in said bores, and a nut 49 threaded on each said end portion, said central portion being elongated as seen in cross-section in the direction away from said base member, the arrangement being such that when the sheet metal band is disposed about the pipe with the boss portions spaced from one another and said central portion received in said bores, the band can be tightened about the pipe by screwing the nuts towards one another. In the construction shown the base member of each lug has a pair of jaw portions which can be closed together to grip the respective end portion of the band and the bore through the boss portion extends through the upper jaw portion. The central portion of the bolt or stud has a cross section which is either oblong with parallel sides and semi-circular ends or alternatively it can consist of two circles which touch each other formed by welding two circular section members together. As shown the bore is non- circular and extends completely through each boss portion and two nuts bear on washers 36. Each washer has an angled end portion which bears on an inclined surface of the boss portion to prevent the washer rotating. In an alternative construction in which each boss portion has a circular exit hole through which the end potion of the stud passes the nut engaging the boss portion directly.
