Abstract
127,022. Brown & Barlow, and Brown, C. March 15, 1917. Addition to 12541/15. Spray carburettors.-The parent Specification describes a carburettor having a jet disposed below the normal fuel level, and a space above such jet which supplies the main nozzle and communicates both with the atmosphere and with a space below a second or pilot nozzle, which latter space communicates also with the atmosphere. The invention consists in providing an intermediate nozzle which serves to supply fuel for those intermediate positions of the throttle valve when neither the main nor the pilot nozzle is in action. The main nozzle is shown at b, the pilot nozzle at m, and the intermediate nozzle at j, the edge of the throttle valve, in its closed position, coming between the nozzles m, j. The jets supplying the nozzles are shown at a, g, l and communicate by a passage d provided with an air conduit c. The jet a is submerged, but the jets g, l may or may not be submerged, may be provided with independent air conduits such as c, and receive their fuel, in the form shown, through tubes such as h. The pilot-jet may receive fuel direct from the space below the jet a, instead of through the space f below the jet g, as shown.
