Abstract
1,267,856. Bulking yarns; twist tubes. BADISCHE ANILIN & SODA FABRIK A.G. 15 Aug., 1969 [16 Aug., 1968], No. 40915/ 69. Headings DID and D1F. In apparatus for bulking without looping, perhaps with thermal or chemical softening/ setting, a multifilament yarn using a fluid medium which subjects the running yarn to false-twisting and the action of a turbulent zone, the yarn or bundle of (perhaps freshlyspun) filaments fed through inlet 2 is entrained in chamber 1 by fluid tangentially injected through inlet 3, given a rotational movement and then advanced through a conically narrowed portion 6 and a duct 4 provided on its internal wall, over at least a part of its length, with grooves or like recesses 5 which may be parallel (as shown) or perpendicular to the duct axis or extend helically therearound, whereby turbulent fluid eddies are created.
