Abstract

1,267,284. Current transformers. E. SCHEUBECK. 21 Aug., 1970 [21 Aug., 1969], No. 40380/70. Heading HIT. In a star-connected three-phase current transformer each phase consists of a primary winding 4, 5, 6, a secondary tapped winding 7, 8, 9, a tap changer 1 comprising pre-selector contact switch 10, on-load changeover switch, reversing switch 12, and an auxiliary switch 18 which connects the centre of each stage winding through a resistor 25, 25A, 25B to the star point 2 when the reversing switch is operated during tap changing. In operation when 7, 8 or 9 is to be reverse connected one pre-selector arm (e.g. arm 14) is moved to a new position, contacts 19, 20, 21 are closed, using a drive 15 through gearing 27, reversing switch 12 is operated by the drive 15, and then contacts 19, 20, 21 are opened again. The contacts of each of the switches 10, 11, 18 are arranged in a common plane and the switches are arranged substantially coaxially.
