Abstract

841,938. Transformers. SMIT & CO'S. TRANSFORMATORENFABRIEK N.V., W. July 22, 1958 [July 22, 1957], No. 23571/58. Class 38 (2). Three-phase on-load tap-changing equipment comprises an on-load changeover switch having fixed contacts 22-27 and three movable switching contacts 28, 29, 30, each having auxiliary contacts connected to the main contacts through resistances and two off-load selector switches each with pairs of bridging contacts 34, 35 and 39, 40 which co-operate respectively with tappings 36, 37, 38 on secondary winding coils 1, 2, 3 and tappings 41-45 on separate secondary coils 46. To increase the voltage from the position shown, where the star point 47 is connected to the lowest tapping 36, the changeover switch is rotated to contacts 23, 25, 27 when connection is made through bus-bars 49, 51, 53 and bridging contact 39 to tapping 41 inserting the first section of coils 46, contact 35 being closed. For a further increase contacts 40 are moved to connect tappings 42 to the bars 48, 50, 52 and the changeover switch is rotated to make circuits through contacts 24, 25, and 26. Other arrangements are described, one (Fig. 1, not shown), having only one selector switch while in the two others (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown), the coils 46 provide respectively seven and eight small voltage steps instead of six and the changeover switch has respectively seven and eight fixed contacts round its circumference.
