Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a change-over switch capable of being readily used for a range from a high-voltage large-current to a low-voltage small-current by using vacuum switches as mechanical contacts when switching over each pair of fixed contacts connected to input terminals for odd- and even-numbered taps to the other by using movable contacts. CONSTITUTION:To switch over each pair of fixed contacts S1 and h1 connected to input terminals for the odd-numbered tap and S2 and h2 connected to those for the even-numbered tap of a change-over switch to the other, movable contacts are constituted as follows: Movable contacts S and h are installed on the side of the contacts S1 and S2 and the side of the contacts h1 and h2 respectively. Between the movable contacts, a current-limiting resistor R and two vacuum switches VS2 and VS1 are connected in series, the output being led from the middle point between the switches VS2 and VS1. This eliminates the need for the variation in the constitution of the vacuum-switch part with the amount of current, so that the quality control can be easier.
