Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the insulating space for the fixed contacts of a tap selector for making a tap changer compact by installing a double insulating-cylinder concentrically with the center axis of the selector, driving each of the movable contacts on the even- and odd-number sides of the selector by using the pair of insulating cylinders. CONSTITUTION:To a three-phase change-over switch 11, which consists of vacuum switches VS1-VS3 and a current-limiting resistor R, an even-number-side input-terminal 12 and an odd-number-side input-terminal 13 are installed projecting outward by using push springs. One of the terminals of each of the switches is connected to an output terminal 14. A movable contact 15 and a collecting fixed contact 17 on the odd-number side, and a movable contact 16 and a collecting fixed contact 18 on the even-number side are each connected together by using flexible conductive-members. At the same time, insulating cylinders 21b and 22b are placed between the contacts 15 and 17, and 16 and 18 respectively. In this constitution, the tap change-over is made by rotating the insulating cylinders 21b and 22b by using Geneva gears 28 and 29 for the odd- and even-numbered tap selection and a quick- break mechanism 32 which are installed in the upper part of the device.
