Abstract
411,092. Regulating switches. ROWBOTHAM, J. L., and HACKBRIDGE ELECTRIC CONSTRUCTION CO., Ltd., Hersham, Walton-on-Thames. Oct. 20, 1932, No. 29348. [Class 38 (v).] In on-load transformer tap changing apparatus tap-changing is effected in the arrangement shown in Figs. 1 and 2 from say tap 1 to tap 2 by closing tapping switch contact C associated with 2, then closing the contactor switch H, moving the contact J over the contacts K of the variable or tapped resistance (or choke) G opening H and finally opening the tapping switch contact B associated with 1. Rotation of the hand wheel 27 Fig. 3 on the shaft 22 rotates the shaft 10 and makes contact between one of the movable contacts 12 of one tapping switch and a corresponding fixed contact 14, closes the contactor switch as in Fig. 6 (not shown) by means of the cam 25, makes and breaks contact between the successive movable contacts 23 and the corresponding fixed contacts 24 which are connected to the tappings of the resistance or choke, opens the contactor switch by means of a cam 26 as in Fig. 5 (not shown) and finally rotates the shaft 9, breaking contact between one of the movable contacts 11 of the second tapping switch and one of the fixed contacts 13 associated therewith. The lead L (Fig. 2) is connected to the fixed contacts 15 and 16.
