Abstract

1,265,268. Forming haehmite layer on Al. SHOWA ALUMINIUM K.K. March 6, 1970 [March 8, 1969], No.10913/70. Heading C7U. Acid insoluble layer of γ s Al 2 O 3 H 2 O haehmite is formed on Al and Al alloys by immersing in a boiling aqueous amine solution at 2-10 Kgms/cm<SP>2</SP> pressure and pH of 9-14. The amine may be mono, di or trietha@olamine monoethylamine or diethylamine container to attain the required pressure. The Al is first cleaned in a solution containing 6% vol. H 2 S@O@ 4 , 6% vol. HNO 3 , 3% vol. CrO 3 . The oxide coate @Al @ @ be treated with steam at 2-10 Kgms/cm<SP>2</SP> @ corrosion resistance.
