Abstract

[Also in Division B8] A mould- or core-receiver assembly comprises a frame 15, a core-receiving table 12 supported from the frame by linkage assemblies 13, 14, each linkage assembly including a lever link 18, 22 pivotally connected at one end to the table 12 and carrying at its opposite end a pivot member 40 accommodated in a guide 41 in the frame 15, and means for moving the mid-points 36, 57 of the lever links 13, 14 in synchronism so that each mid-point moves through an arc 55, 56 while the table 12 moves perpendicularly with respect to the plane in which the rollers 40 are constrained to move by the guides 41. A piston and cylinder unit 31 is connected to the linkage assemblies 13, 14 by bell-crank levers 17, 21 which are pivoted to the frame 15, e.g. at 34, and are interconnected by a bar 50. A conveyer 11 is pivotally attached to supports 19 and 23 which are interconnected by a stabilizing bar 59 attached at 61 and 62 respectively, each of the supports 19, 23 being pivotally connected to the lever links 18, 22 at 36 and 57 respectively. Actuation of the piston and cylinder unit 31 moves both the table 12 and the conveyer 11 upwards from the position shown, the table moving further than the conveyer so that core-receiving fingers 29 pass between the ribbons of the conveyer to receive a core 27. Retraction of the piston and cylinder unit then lowers the table 12 and conveyer 11 so that the core is deposited gently on to the conveyer.
