Abstract

809,361. Hydraulic presses. FIELDING & PLATT Ltd. Sept. 29, 1955 [Jan. 15, 1954], No. 1311/54. Class 69 (2). An hydraulic press comprises four frame members 1 of elongated hoop form, insert platens 6 being mounted in the closed ends of each of the members 1, a spacer member 12 common to all the members 1 being bolted to the upper insert platens and carrying fixed rams over which work cylinders carrying the moving platen 18. The press table 10 is supported on the lower insert platens by means of a spacer member 11 common to all the members 1. Draw back rams 17, and compensating cylinders 22 for ensuring parallel movement of the platen 18, are provided.
