Abstract
794,188. Mechanical presses. HANNI, E. July 19, 1954 [July 18, 1953], No. 20991/54. Class 87(2). In a press having an open throat at the front, a press-stand, a bed-plate, and a vertically moving ram, an inner frame 22 absorbs the thrust forces acting on the ram in the operation of the press and an outer frame 3 supports the guides 13 for the ram, the two frames being connected by intermediate elements 21 which are resilient vertically and rigid horizontally, so that the guides are substantially unaffected by vertical distortions of the frame 22. The elements 21 are horizontal plates mounted one above another and either welded to the two frames and to the guide supports or as shown welded to the guide supports 12 and to an intermediate plate 20 which is linked to the corner frame by struts 23, 24 and bars 23.
