Class 122(1) [Also in Groups V, XIX and XXIX] A press platen comprises two members 1, 2 separated by a cushion of liquid 3 and has a sealing ring 4. The ring is secured to the members 1, 2 by clamping plates 7, 8 and alternatively, or in addition, the ring may be bonded to the members of the platen. Cord 5 may be incorporated in the ring and reinforcing wire 6 provided. To increase its flexibility, the inside of the U-shaped trough of the ring has no strengthening cord 5.
