Abstract

1346940 Wine filter E A SKINNER 31 Oct 1972 [30 Sept 1971] 45660/71 Heading B1D [Also in Division Fl] Liquid is drawn into the cylinder 36, Fig. 1, of a pump through an inlet 40 and is delivered into a container 20 by a piston 43 provided with a seal 44. Floats are provided on the piston for the passage of liquid. Alternatively ducts 56, Fig. 9 may be provided and the seal 57 may float. A stud 47 floats between the top of a rod 25 and the lid 38 of the container. As described the pump is used to force wine through a filter comprising a fixed plate 27, an adjustable plate 26, a layer of felt, fibre glass or cotton wool 28 and a layer of diatomaceous silica 29.
