Abstract

839,229. Bending glass sheets. LIBBEYOWENS-FORD GLASS CO. April 29, 1958 [May 13, 1957], No. 13507/58. Class 56. In a sectionalised mould for bending glass sheets support blocks 37 carried by bars 34 are initially in line with the outboard ends of the spread wing portions 16 of the mould. A bent lever 40 is rigidly secured to each side of each' wing portion and is provided at its free end with a roller 43 which runs in a slot 36 at each end of the bars 34 whereby as the mould closes the bars are lowered and eventually the supports 37 lie below the concavity of the closed mould. Movement of the bars 34 is guided by pins 50. Specifications 745,992, 764,448 and 768,484 are referred to.
