Abstract
1,251,869. Electrophotographic element. A. B. DICK CO. 8 April, 1969 [8 April, 1968], No. 17949/69. Heading H1K. An electrophotographic element comprises a base sheet having a photoconductive layer thereon containing a particulate photoconductive material, an insulating resin binder and up to 0À8 wt. per cent of a glycol based on the weight of the photoconductive layer. The glycol is preferably propylene or triethylene glycol. In the embodiments paper is coated with a mixture of ZnO, the glycol, a dye mixture and a resin mixture. The dye mixture is preferably the sodium salt of Bromophenol blue, the sodium salt of fluorescein and euchrysine GGA. The resin mixture may contain copoly styrene-acrylate, a blend of polyethylene orthophthalate and polystyrene, a blend of polyvinyl acetate and polyacrylate, copoly styrene-ethylacrylate or a blend of polyvinyl acetate, acrylic and alkyd resins. The glycol is preferably added as a methanolic solution to the coating composition.
