Abstract

1,128,417. Photoconductive insulating material. FUJI SHASHIN FILM K.K. 28 Sept., 1966 [29 Sept., 1965], No. 43287/66. Heading H1K. A photoconductive insulating material comprises a dispersion of CdS and I 2 in an insulating binder. CdCO 3 may optionally be present to give a molar ratio of sulphide to carbonate in the range 1:1 to 4. I 2 is dissolved in alcohol and added to the cadmium salt while stirring. The mixture is allowed to stand, and after removal of the supernatant liquid, dried in vacuum. An acrylic binder is mixed therewith and the mixture coated on an aluminium sheet which is dried and baked at various temperatures. Glass may also be used as a binder.
