Abstract

1,243,093. Table underframes. ARNEX PRODUCTS Ltd. 28 Jan., 1970 [14 Nov., 1968], No. 54098/68. Heading A4H. A table underframe comprises two subframes 24 which are spaced apart by transverse members 12, 13, 14, the subframes having transverse spigots 15, 16, 28 which enter in and are secured to the transverse members 12, 13, 14. The upper spigots 15, 16 are D-shaped and are welded into the subframes 24 (Fig. 2, not shown), the ends of the transverse members being cut at an angle to avoid the weld (17). The lower spigots 28 are square sectioned (Fig. 3, not shown), enter into the subframes 24 and are welded to them through openings (29) in a wall of the subframe. The table top 32 is screwed to both the transverse members 12 and 13 and to the spigots and the lower transverse member 14 is secured to the spigots 28 by self-tapping screws.
