[Class 52 (ii)] A cabinet or cupboard structure comprises a skeleton frame formed from extruded bars of aluminium or other metal interconnected by inter-fitting joints and having longitudinal grooves in which are fitted panels forming the walls of the cabinet, the panels and grooves therefor forming part of the jointing. Fig. 1 shows a skeleton frame in which three types of bar are used having respectively one, two, or three panel grooves formed therein. All the joints are interfitting, e.g. as shown in Fig. 2, at the joint where the bars 13, 15, 16 meet the end of bar 13 is cut away at its underside as indicated at 13a to fit into the cut-away portion 15b of the bar 15 which as shown also has a groove cut in the end to accommodate a tongue 16a formed by cutting away part of the end of bar 16. When assembled a panel would enter the grooves 13b and 15c while another panel would fit into the other groove of the bar 15 and the horizontal groove of the bar 16 to assist the fixing of the joint. Fig. 1 indicates other joints, e.g. the end of bar 18 enters a cut-away part of bar 13 so that the groove 18b and the horizontal one in bar 13 would take the same panel. Fig. 12 shows a suitable panel comprising thin sheets 26 of aluminium with a filling 27. The joints may be pinned or otherwise secured. Specification 613,255 is referred to.
