Abstract

1,184,261. Furniture joints. VOGNFABRIKKEN SCANDIA A.B. 13 May, 1968 [12 May, 1967], No. 22682/68. Heading A4H. Two steel tubes 1, 6 of rectangular cross section are connected together at right angles to each other by locating the tube 1 in an angular recess (7) in the end of the tube 6, passing a bolt 17 through holes 23, 24 in two wedges 18, 19 disposed within the tube 1 and screwing the bolt into a nut 12 welded to the other tube 6. The wedges are disposed with their inclined surfaces in abutment and the hole 23 in the upper wedge 18 is oblong and the hole 24 in the lower wedge 19 is circular so that tightening the bolt causes the upper wedge 18 and the tube 1 to be pressed to the right. The tube 1 has a cut out 2 through which the wedges are passed.
