Abstract

1,061,158. Pipe joints. PARAGON PLASTICS Ltd. Oct. 27, 1965 [Nov. 19, 1964], No. 47207/64. Heading F2G. A fluid-tight joint connects two members 10 and 12 together by a screw-threaded connection 16-18 sealed by a tapered member 34 which is forced into a tapered end 24 in the member 12 by means independent of the screwed connection 16-18 so as to embrace the member 10 with a force independent of that which has screwed them together. An abutment face 22 may be provided for the end of the member 10. In an alternative embodiment (not shown) the nut 28 which compresses the member 34 is screw-threaded on to the outside of the member 10 instead of on to the member 12.
