Abstract

1,008,313. Pipe couplings. PEGLERS Ltd March 7, 1963 [April 9, 1962], No. 13561/62. Heading F2G. A pipe connection comprises a sleeve 10 which fits over the end of a pipe 11 and has a ridged end 13 to co-operate with an inwardly projecting lip 17 in a nut 16 and a cylindrical portion 14 which is received in a cylindrical recess 18 in the adaptor or fitting 12 to which the pipe 11 is to be connected and which has an external thread 19 to engage the nut 16. A hollow cylindrical liner 20 has a flange 21 which is received between the end of the recess 18 of the adaptor 12 and the ends of the sleeve 15 and pipe 11. The sleeve 10 may be formed of nylon, polypropylene, polyacetal or other suitable material. The adaptor may be used for connecting two externally threaded pipes, in which case it has a recess at either end to receive a sleeve and a nut.
