1,240,266. Discharge tubes. E.M.I. Ltd. 18 July, 1968 [22 July, 1967], No. 33822/67. Addition to 1,090,774. Heading H1D. In the electron discharge tube of the parent Specification in which a porous, ion-trapping conductive coating is provided on an electrode surface opposite a photo-cathode, a similar porous coating is also provided on an internal surface of insulating material, specifically on a wall of the glass envelope, to prevent the emission of spurious ions. The discharge tube may be an image intensifier, a photo-multiplier or a television or other image pick-up device.
