Abstract
The TV camera tube life is extended if the positive ions are captured and absorbed by a layer on its screen. This reduces the poisoning of the photo-cathode (15). A conductive layer is deposited on one face of the disc. A titanium layer (21) is deposited on top and the holes of all layers are in line. The photo-cathode is so positioned that it emits primary electrons to the second layer, which is kept at a positive potential compared with the photo-cathode. The electrons of the first layer are captured by a device distant from it. The positive ions, freed from the latter, have a definite trajectory and bombard the surface without hindrance.
