Abstract

695,115. Television pick-up tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. March 2, 1950 [March 5, 1949], No. 5304/50. Class 39(i) An electrically-conductive electron permeable screen is supported on projecting elements of conductive or insulating material at a short distance from the image electrode of a transmitting tube on at least the photo cathode side thereof. The conductive screen may be the signal plate and its presence prevents the redistribution of secondary electrons over the surface of the image electrode. The conductive layer 8 about .2Á thick may be supported on granules of pulverulent glass or ferro-chromium applied to the semi-conductive glass plate 18 of a target electrode. The granules are not thicker than 10Á. In Fig. 3 a double side mosaic 19 with apertures lined with insulating material 20 and filled with metal grains 21 is covered with a conductive layer which is held out of contact with the metal grains by the projecting insulating material.
