Abstract
773,813. Television pick-up tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Nov. 18, 1954 [Nov. 21, 1953], No. 33436/54. Class 39(1). In a television camera tube in which electrons liberated at the semi-conductive target pass to a collector electrode, a conductive strip covers a peripheral border of the image surface of the semi-conductive layer or is spaced a short distance therefrom and at a potential which is closer to that of the collector than to that of the signal plate. The conductive coating anode 12 of the image tube 1 is connected to a tubular collector 13 surrounding a target electrode 5, a peripheral unscanned border of the target area 5 is covered with a conductive strip, which is connected by wire 19 to the movable contact 20 of a potentiometer 21 which is connected between the collector and the signal plate. Resistances 15, 22, 23 give the signal loading and reduce the damping of the high frequency oscillations. In the modification of Fig. 2 (not shown), the peripheral strip is spaced a short distance from the face of the image layer 5 and is connected directly to the collector.
