Abstract

1,224,984. Securing sliding sash windows. R. J. HAMMERTON. 22 April, 1968 [21 April, 1967], No. 18521/67. Heading F2H. A fixing device for sliding sash windows comprises a pin 1 having a screw-threaded transverse bore 6 at right angles to the pin axis and a screw 2 having a threaded portion 2a for screwing into said bore. The pin has a cylindrical shank and a cross-grooved head 4. In use, the pin is placed in a vertical bore formed in the bottom rail 12 of the top sash window and the screw is placed in a bore which extends horizontally across the top rail 11 of the bottom sash and through a horizontal bore in the bottom rail 12 of the top sash into the threaded bore in the pin 1.
