Abstract

1,024,746. Window frames; stud and socket fastenings. K. STEINER. Nov. 14, 1962 [June 22, 1962], No. 43114/62. Headings E1J and E2B. [Also in Division F2] An exterior metal cover 14 or 24 is secured resiliently to a wooden door or window frame 12 or 22 by threadless bolts 30 located in spaced bores 19 or 29 and each having a riveted headplate 31 engaged in a channel 15 or 25 in the metal cover 14 or 24 and a neck 32, Fig. 2 (not shown), engaged by a slotted leaf spring 34 in a recess 13 or 23 in the wooden frame 12 or 22. The outer end of the curved leaf spring 34 has a flange with a notch to receive an extracting tool but the recesses 13 may be concealed by a fillet 28 which with a flange 21 of the metal cover forms a cementing channel for a double glass 27. The fillet 28 is shown on a frame 22 in which the leaf spring 34 is shown perpendicular to that shown in the frame 12, being turned as it is inserted to accommodate a shallow recess 23. The head plate 31 of the bolt is eccentric of the shank 30 to accommodate to the position of the bore 29 when it leads to a shallow recess 23.
