Abstract

1,218,449. Ground anchors. R. LANGER. 9 Dec., 1968 [19 Dec., 1967], No. 58358/68. Heading E1B. A screw in type ground anchor comprising a round shank 1 with a spiral anchor plate, 2 welded thereto is inserted in the ground by a tubular box spanner of round cross-section having a head 9 formed with an abutment edge 10 to abut the upper radial edge 5 of the plate 2 for securing the anchor in and an abutment edge 17 for abutting the lower radial edge 4 for screwing the anchor out. In a modification the abutment edge 17 is omitted and the anchor is unscrewed by clamping a torsion bar to its upper end.
