Abstract

1,224,570. Indicator lamps. AMP Inc. 9 May, 1969 [21 May, 1968], No. 24122/68. Heading F4R. [Also in Division H2] A lampholder for a capless lamp 15 or other lamps is moulded in a stiffly resilient plastic such as acrylonitrile butadiene styrene so that two arms 4 integral with a tubular body 1 at their rear ends 5 only may be squeezed into grooves (32) in the body 1 to allow the lampholder to be inserted into a hole 31 in a panel 7 from the rear. A flange 9 on the body 1 is also grooved and is located behind the panel whereupon the arms 4 are released so that their ends 6 latch in front of the panel. The mouth 2 of the body communicates with two rearwardly extending passages 3, each of which contains a metal contact 23 connected to a wire by a crimping ferrule 30. Each contact 23 has lances 26, 27 struck out on one side to locate on a shoulder 18 in the body and prevent rearward withdrawal, and projections 28, 29 formed on the opposite side to engage a transverse groove 20 on the pinch of a capless lamp. The projection 28 is also used to establish electrical contact with a terminal wire 21 of the lamp.
