Abstract

1,238,587. Latch fastenings. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 28 Aug., 1969 [30 Aug., 1968], No. 42817/69. Heading E2A. [Also in Division H2] The parts of a plug and socket connector 10 are releasably latched together on full engagement by a pair of brackets 72 which have ramps 76 and are fastened to one connector part, and by a corresponding pair of springs 34 which are fastened to a housing 12 containing the other connector part and have portions 52 which ride inwardly of the ramps 76 and snap into abutting engagement with rear shoulders of the ramps. The springs 34 are fixed by rivets 36 to side walls 20 of the housing 12 containing a plug connector 22. Mid-portions of the springs 24 are bent outwardly through apertures in the side walls 20 to form release buttons 42 which allow socket connector 14 to be withdrawn. The housing 12 also contains a clamp (82) for cables 88 consisting of a ribbed bar (84) secured to the inside of the housing by screws 102, (104).
