[Classes 36 and 38 (i)] An insulating moulding containing conductors to which connection can be made at various points, comprises a hollow casing 15 having the conductors 18, 19 attached to the inside, and accessible from the interior. The casing is formed by extrusion with a continuous or discontinuous slot on a web 20 that can be broken away where required. A plug member to engage the conductors may comprise a head carrying contacts that can be inserted in the slot and turned into engagement and the neck may wedge in the slot under the action of springs associated with the contacts. The conductors may be arranged on the side walls, as shown in Fig. 1, or on the rear or front walls. In this case the conductors 18, 19, Fig. 5, are engaged by contacts 25, 26 pressed against them by a spring member 31 that may be an earthing contact arranged to engage an earthing conductor 22. The slot in the casing may be closed by slidable covers between which may be inserted sections with apertures for the insertion of a plug, the sections may be secured by spring catches so as to be removable. The sections may carry contacts which engage the conductors when turned after insertion of a plug member which may release a lock that retains the contacts normally in disengaged position. A permanently attached slidable member may be mounted on the casing, the member having sockets to receive a standard plug member. The sockets may be arranged in various positions.
