Abstract

1,042,219. Two-part couplings. AMP Inc. Nov. 4, 1964 [Nov. 30, 1963], No. 44920/64. Heading H2E. An integrally-moulded body has three passageways each containing a socket 7 inserted along the passageway, for receiving a pin inserted through an aperture 11 in the top of the body, the socket being held against withdrawal by a resilient detent 8 engaging behind a shoulder 13 opposite the aperture 11. When a pin is inserted it engages the walls of the socket 7 and also pushes on detent 8 to further secure it against removal. The rear end of each passageway is closed by a vertical wall except for a small hole through which a suitable tool can be inserted to release the detent 8. The central passageway is located forwardly of the two outer ones so that the apertures 11 are arranged to receive a conventional 3- pin plug.
