Abstract

1410679 Two-part coupling M NUKAGA 5 March 1973 [1 April 1972] 10496/73 Heading H2E To prevent risk of touching live contacts of a partially inserted plug, a retractable sheath 15 protecting pins 14 is urged forward by spring 19 but retained by a flange on the wall 16 of the housing engaging with a flange on sheath 15. The insulating housing 11 is made in two identical parts engaging face-to-face and clamped through hole 23, retaining between them pins 14 and sheath 15. Spring 19 is held between projections 18 at one end and partitions 13 in opposing half-housings 12. On insertion of the plug into its socket, sheath 15 is forced to retract, while protecting the exposed parts of pins 14, and on withdrawal it is urged forward by spring 19.
