Abstract

1,262,275. Lamp-holders. PRESSAC Ltd. 3 June, 1969 [29 July, 1968], No. 36014/68. Heading H2E. A lampholder for a capless lamp is moulded from synthetic plastics and has a pair of cams 7 and a circumferential flange 8 to engage the front and rear surfaces respectively of a panel 5 when the holder is inserted from the rear into a slotted aperture 4 in the panel and turned. Stops 10 on the flange 8 locate in slots 9 of the aperture when the holder is fully rotated, preventing further forward or inadvertent rearward rotation. The holder has a mouth 6 to receive a lamp and a body 1 with a pair of rearward openings 2 for leads to be connected to the lampholder contacts. Alternatively the holder may have only one contact for a lead and have a second contact 3 bent laterally outward through a gap in the end of the holder or over the edge of the mouth 6 to serve as an earthing contact.
