Abstract

1,030,913. Jacks. PRESSAC Ltd. March 25, 1965 [May 26, 1964], No. 21684/64. Heading H2E. The body of a jack for receiving a jack plug is made in two parts-a plastics moulding 1 with a flange 2 and grooves in which contacts 3, 4 and 5 are located, and a cap 6 with slots through which the contacts pass and which is a snap fit on the part 1 to retain those contacts. The contact 3 is cranked at 3b to. engage the sleeve of an inserted jack plug and the contact 5 is shaped to engage its tip and, on insertion of the plug, is moved away from the contact 4. The ends of the contacts serve as solder tags. A decorative metal bezel 7, Fig. 3 (not shown), may be fitted over the flange 2. The jack may be mounted on a panel by passing it through an aperture and fitting an internally toothed locking washer round the part 1.
